THE ACCOUCHEUR
The Accoucheur was started in 1993 by Dr. Larry Reynolds
and was circulated by subscription until 2001. Larry's intention
was to produce a periodical dedicated to primary care providers
of maternity care in Canada. It contained articles discussing
issues relevant to primary care obstetrics, as well as book
reviews, thoughtful eidtorials, pearls of wisdom and birth
stories. The Collaboration for Maternal and Newborn Health
(CMNH) will now be coordinating the quarterly newsletter.
We have mapped out a plan for a number of sites across the
country to rotate as editors. We are interested in input from
all disciplines and are open to suggestions on the format.
The Accoucheur will no longer have a subscription fee and
will be available for free by downloading on-line through
the CMNH website (www.cmnh.ca)
and the Maternity Care Discussion Group.
